A friend in need | Ginny+Luna

People were rushing in and out of shops as they prepared for the grave days to come. The Games has been announced and there was panic everywhere Ginny went. Even she was distressed after hearing it. Who couldn’t be? 

‘Children are going to die.’ That was all she could think about. Upon hearing the announcement, she went straight to write a letter addressed to Luna Lovegood. She wrapped a ribbon around it and tied it to Ron’s owl, Pig. As he flew off the windowsill, she started to get ready to head off to Diagon Alley. She had invited Luna to spend the day with her.

Ginny sat on a bench, near Florean Fortescue’s Ice Cream Parlour, which was now boarded up. She grimaced as she remembered that Florean Fortescue was kidnapped and murdered. She has so much memories in there, and as she waited for Luna, they all started to come back to her. Flashes of laughter and happiness filled her mind as her eyes started to tear up. 

‘No, be strong Ginny. You can not cry.’ She told herself. She quickly wiped off the tears and put on a emotionless face. 

‘Where are you Luna?’

Luna walked down the street, turning her new Butterbeer-cork necklace over and over in her hands. As she saw all the people bustling about, talking about the Games in worried tones, she couldn’t keep back her frown. Two of these people could die, she thought, waving at a girl who had been in her dormitory in sixth year. As she saw Ginny sitting alone on a bench, a small voice in her head added: What if it’s GInny? Or Harry, or Hermione, or Ron?

“Hello,” she said quietly. “Oh… don’t be upset, Ginny… it’ll be all right.” She sat down next to her friend. “These Games are all just a conspiracy by the Death Eaters, anyway. Maybe we’ll find a way to rebel… and fight off the trolls and dementors they set on us when we rebel… and then we’ll stop them. We’ll find a way.” Luna smiled.

“After all, we got rid of Umbridge, and we got rid of Voldemort. We can get rid of a silly Capitol!”
